MiHoYo has added another exciting feature in Genshin Impact — fishing.
Yes, travelers can now catch different types of fish using fishing rods. These fishes can be kept as pets in the Serenitea Pot or used as materials.

Genshin Impact fishing quest: “Exploding Population”
To start your fishing career, you need to finish the Genshin Impact fishing quest first. Here’s a step-by-step fishing guide:
- Go to your quests and navigate the Genshin Impact fishing quest “Exploding Population”. It will be located at Mondstadt’s Cider Lake.
- In there you will find a guy who’s fishing. His name is Nantuck. Talk to him.
- The Genshin Impact fishing quest will ask you to go to the area near Springvale.
- After talking to Nantuck again, you will finally get to try fishing for the first time.
- Nantuck will ask you to go around the waters in Stormbearer Mountains to catch an ornamental fish for your Serenitea Pot.
- After successfully catching a fish, return to the Mondstadt city proper to talk to Nantuck. He will reward you with 30,000 Mora and 3x Hero’s Wit for finishing the Genshin Impact fishing quest.

Note that you need to unlock the Serenitea Pot and complete the Genshin Impact fishing quest “Exploding Population” to fully unlock this feature.
The Serenitea Pot feature can be unlocked at Adventure Rank 35.
