The last time that we saw these two major leagues clash was at the 2020 Mid-Season Cup where LPL team Top Esports emerged as champions.

The Wild Rift Rivals 2021: LCK vs LPL Invitational will mark the start of Wild Rift esports in South Korea and China. The invitational will pit League of Legends’ two major regions — South Korea’s League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) and China’s League of Legends Pro League (LPL) against each other.

This Wild Rift tournament will run for four days starting on August 11 and ending on August 14. (All times and days are in GMT+8.)

August 11 (Wednesday)

  • Legend Match — LCK representatives vs LPL representatives (12:00 p.m.)
  • Main Match Round 1 — TBA (1:30 p.m.)

August 12 (Thursday)

  • Main Match Round 2 — TBA (12:00 p.m.)

August 13 (Friday)

  • Main Match Round 3 — TBA (12:00 p.m.)

August 14 (Saturday)

Format of the Wild Rift Rivals 2021: LCK vs LPL Invitational

League of Legends: Wild Rift, Ashe

The tournament will start with a showmatch between LCK and LPL representatives in a best-of-five series. It will be followed by the Main Match, which will be played in a best-of-three format.

A total of three rounds will be played during the Main Match. Every LCK team will play one match against an LPL team.

The Final will be a best-of-five series.

The Main Event will offer a US$90,000 prize pool.

Teams from the winning region will receive US$20,000 each, while teams from the losing region will get US$10,000 each.
