Genshin Impact’s update 1.6 will drop on 9th June, and here is everything we know about this new update.
Genshin Impact Update 1.6 - Midsummer Island Adventures
Version 1.6 of Genshin Impact will have a seasonal event: Midsummer Island Adventure. The story will begin when Klee receives a mysterious letter from a Dodo-King threatening to take Dodoco away from her. In order to help Klee, players will have to sail on a boat called a Waverider and explore a secluded archipelago scattered over a remote sea area. The Midsummer Island Adventure event will be broken up into four stages. The first will have players sail on the Waverider and destroy enemy floating towers and encampments. The second stage will comprise of racing by both sailing and flying. The third stage will have gamers take on a new enemy, Maguu Kenki. The final stage will have players clear out monster encampments with the aid of three kinds of Harpastum Bombs.
New Character Kazuha
We'll also meet new playable character, Kaedehara Kazuha, who's said to play "the front and centre role in the upcoming Archon Quest", as Inazuma - Kazuha's homeland - is "closed to the outside world making it nearly impossible to get in". "In the sweltering summer, a strange letter is discovered on the windowsill, with a spiraling fog shrouding a mystery far away," the video description teases. "Following the sound of the crashing waves to find the truth, sparks dance on the horizon as the fleeing sun shines brightly across the sky. "For her best friend and for the great adventure ahead, our youngest knight is ready to embark on her journey - let's go!"
Kazuha is the only character from the data mined beta to be leaked so far, but we do know that the devs are likely to release at least two characters per update. Genshin Impact 1.5 introduced Yanfei and Eula, two excellent characters that have earned high spots on our Genshin Impact tier list.
There's some debate over which characters might be joining Kazuha 1.6's banners. Some suggest Ayaka, another five-star character, will finally make it in the game after existing in beta form for months. However, miHoYo’s existing pattern of character releases make that seem unlikely. The other dominant rumor is the Klee banner will get a rerun, which makes sense. Genshin 1.4 and 1.5 each featured reruns of existing five-star characters before introducing the new additions.
